Choice in Chains is based on the results of a national consumer-based research study that surveys more than 3,100 people. It rates 120 of the country's largest restaurant chains on eight key attributes including: food quality, service, convenience, cleanliness, value, atmosphere, menu variety and reputation.
"We're so proud to receive this award for the third time," said Raymond ("Rick") P. Barbrick, president and CEO of Avado Brands, which owns the Don Pablo's concept. "I think people continue to appreciate the traditional Mexican experience at Don Pablo's and we're always working to recreate authentic parts of Mexican culture for our guests - the airy, plaza-style feel of our restaurants, the energy, the colors and the traditional recipes and food."
"Because they are the voice of restaurant patrons, R&I's Choice in Chains awards are terrific commendations for the winners. It's like getting an A on a report card," said Patricia Dailey, editorial director of Restaurants & Institutions.
More About Don Pablo's
Don Pablo's was born in the West Texas town of Lubbock in 1985, but the heritage of its food can be traced back more than 200 years and 2,000 miles to the central plains of Mexico. It was here that Mexican ranch cooks created their legendary handmade dishes using a secret mixture of cilantro and comino (Mexican spice), as well as roasted green chilies and other native herbs and spices. More importantly, these culinary pioneers blazed a new trail by making every meal fresh from scratch without preservatives. Today, Don Pablo's continues that time-honored tradition with made-from-scratch salsa, tortillas and sauces as well as an entire range of traditional Mexican specialties.
Don Pablo's has 96 restaurants in 19 states and is part of the Avado Brands portfolio of restaurant concepts. Avado Brands (www.avado.com) is based in Madison, Ga. For more information, call 1-800-DPABLOS (1-800-372-2567) or visit www.donpablos.com.
