California and Texas Governors Bet Prized Agricultural Products on Rose Bowl Outcome

SACRAMENTO, Calif.--()--Dec. 30, 2005--A "California Grown" cornucopia prize package and Texas agricultural products are on the line in a friendly bet between California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and Texas Governor Rick Perry over the outcome of the highly anticipated Rose Bowl that pits top-ranked USC against No. 2 Texas on January 4, 2006 in Pasadena, California. USC is currently favored by 7 1/2 points according to The Sacramento Bee.

Should the Trojans defeat Texas in the championship showdown, the California National Guard will receive a variety of Texas-grown agricultural products. If the Longhorns win, Governor Schwarzenegger will ship California grown products to the Texas National Guard.

"For the last two years we have had the finest college football team, and as you know, the only thing better than a sequel is a trilogy. I look forward to the Trojans winning the BCS championship again this year."
