DALLAS--()--Nov. 9, 2005--Virtbiz.com, one of Dallas' oldest privately-held Internet Service Providers, has moved their core network from Bedford into the AspenTX.com data center in the Bank of America Plaza in downtown Dallas.

"The move is a tremendous upgrade for us," says Virtbiz President Chris Gebhardt. "We've grown a lot in the past couple of years, and now we have a facility that's ready to grow with us."

The new data center is in one of the premier facilities in North Texas with the amenities of a class A building. Features of the building include diesel generators and transfer switches for an uninterruptible power supply, 24x7 security, multiple fiber entries into both ends at the base of the building and multiple wireless links from the roof for unsurpassed redundancy. "Aspen Communications has built an amazing facility," says Gebhardt. "By leveraging their investment and expertise, we are able to provide our customer base with infrastructure that would be cost-prohibitive if we had to start from scratch."

The data facility Virtbiz.com has moved into includes redundant environmental controls, empty pipe fire suppression, raised floors and a 1000 Mbps Internet connection. It is a mission critical data facility and boasts 99.999% up time.

"They literally have up to 45 times the bandwidth capacity they had before," says Aspen Communications Vice President Kam Ghassemieh. "They went from DS3 connections to a diverse Gigabit ethernet fiber sonnet with wireless redundancy. That's a serious upgrade."

Virtbiz.com is one of the few ISP's in the Metroplex to have survived the dot-com bubble burst of 2001. "It's all about our customers," explains Gebhardt. "We're a small company, so we have a vested interest in making sure our customers are happy. When our customers are happy, they tell their friends and business associates." Gebhardt estimates that more than half of new business is through word-of-mouth referrals from existing customers.

Virtbiz.com was founded in 1996 with a single server and has since grown to host over 65,000 domains. The company's primary focus remains web-hosting, but its product portfolio has grown to include website design, e-commerce, dial-up and high-speed Internet services. Virtbiz.com's client-list includes the #1-rated Russ Martin Show, CBS Radio, FedEx, KVIL, KLUV-FM, Business & Professional Women of Plano and Richardson, Dallas Cowboys Radio Network, and Jack-FM.
