Emerson Acquires Numatics, a Maker of Pneumatic and Motion Control Products; Transaction Extends Company's Portfolio of Fluid Power Products and Technologies Serving Global Industrial Automation Market

ST. LOUIS--()--Sept. 22, 2005--Emerson (NYSE:EMR) today announced it has acquired Highland, Michigan-based Numatics Inc., a leader in pneumatic control and motion control products for industrial applications.

Numatics serves manufacturing and packaging industries with fluid power products and technologies. Numatics has manufacturing locations in North America and Europe as well as sales offices in France, United Kingdom, Taiwan, Hungary, the Netherlands and Italy. It becomes a unit of Emerson Industrial Automation and strengthens the existing fluid automation technology and capabilities of Emerson's Asco Joucomatic division.
