New Book by Peter J. Dean, Ph.D. Talks Leadership in the Boardroom and Beyond

BRYN MAWR, Pa.--()--Sept. 19, 2005--Peter J. Dean, Ph.D., award-winning professor of management and leadership, has published a new book through McGraw-Hill called Leadership for Everyone- How to Apply the Seven Essential Skills to Become a Great Motivator, Influencer and Leader, which explores how every interaction and every encounter in business and in everyday life, holds opportunities for leadership. The book provides an innovative framework for enhancing leadership skills in any situation and offers tools and advice to produce leaders who influence each situation in which they're involved.

"Leadership for Everyone is an important guide for individuals who want to be motivators and influencers in the private sector, public sector, government sector, small business, the community and even in families," states Dr. Dean. "I want to show people a new, broader perspective on leadership within their specific environment that allows them to remove barriers, utilize new strategies, share positive ideas and goals and work beyond the status quo."

In the book, Dr. Dean introduces the L.E.A.D.E.R.S. Method(TM), which encompasses seven learnable skills for anyone who wants to become a more effective leader:

Peter J. Dean, Ph.D. holds the O. Alfred Granum Chair in Management and Leadership at The American College. He has conducted many communication and leadership courses at the University of Pennsylvania- in communication, ethics and leadership at the Wharton School; in leadership in the public domain at the Fels Center of Government; and in leadership and ethics to the Benjamin Franklin Scholars. Dr. Dean is also the recipient of several awards including: the Excellence in Teaching Award at Penn State University at Great Valley; the MBA Core Curriculum Cluster Teaching Award at the Wharton School; and the Excellence in Teaching Award at the Wharton School.
