eGeoCardio allows team management and media to track the heart rate of individual cyclists. Monitoring software will integrate athletes' medical data with information received from a sensor and transmitter located on participating cyclists. The integrated cardiometry will be displayed with graphics and alerts. In addition, the heart rate of each cyclist will be monitored on selected TV channels, including Eurosport, France Television, and German, Italian and US television stations. A worldwide ASP server will send this data to the TV stations' Internet sites as well.
The annual Tour de France race is regarded as the premier cycling race on the planet. It spans the width and breadth of France and attracts athletes from all corners of the globe. The race is more than 3429 kilometers long. Starting on July 3 at Liege, Belgium, it finishes in Paris on July 25. http://www.letour.fr/2004/presentationus/chiffres.html
For this event, Globe Staff has partnered with Polar Electro, a private Finnish company which is the world's leading manufacturer of sports instruments, including heart rate monitoring and evaluation equipment. Development of the eGeoCardio system including hardware, firmware, software and integration of the Polar cardio receiver in eGeoTrack's module was accomplished entirely by Globe Staff. Globe Staff intends to market its eGeoCardio product world wide.
eGeoCardio has been well received by Tour de France and is seen as an excellent training and tracking tool for athletes of many different disciplines including cycling, downhill and cross country skiing and distance running.
Mr. Jean Gilles Subervie, President of Globe Staff Consulting and a director of Sure Trace Security Corporation stated, "This is the biggest bicycle race on earth and receives world wide media exposure over an extended period of time. To be a part of it is very exciting. We are proud that eGeoCardio can provide this significant advance in the science of monitoring the cyclists. It will assist each cyclist to improve his performance and safety and provide cycling sports fans with new real-time information."
Mr. Subervie continued, "Our next version of eGeoCardio, which has been advanced to the prototype stage, will include a GSM/GPRS/GPS module which will allow managers and fans to follow the progress of cyclists in real time including location, speed, and altitude. Over the coming weeks and months, Globe Staff will detail additional applications and developments of its ground breaking technology in cardio monitoring as well as in elder care, child safety, and law enforcement."
