The commercial opens with a close-up shot of a dancing index finger, dressed as The Delicious One. The camera slowly pans out to a shot of the real Delicious One shaking his head as the voice over says, "See how easy it is to spot an imposter?"
The world's largest hot dog chain will air the 30-second spot in its major markets in California, Arizona and Texas. To support the new advertising campaign and promote its legendary chili, Wienerschnitzel is offering its 3 for $3 deal. Customers can get a world famous Chili Cheese Dog, tasty Chili Cheese Fries and the best Chili Cheeseburger, all for just $3 through the month of March only.
"The spot is part of Wienerschnitzel's strategy to focus on our proprietary chili recipe that's one-of-a-kind and unique only to Wienerschnitzel," said Tom Amberger, director of marketing. "There are a lot of 'imposters' introducing new chili products. We wanted to convey to our customers that Wienerschnitzel chili is the original and still the best for more than 42 years."
Founded by John Galardi in 1961, with a single hot dog stand in Wilmington, Calif., Wienerschnitzel is one of the real pioneers of the quick service food industry.
