World’s Tallest Cat Headlines West Coast Pet Expo

Scarlett’s Magic, Rare Kitten Cubs, to Star in So-Cal’s Premier Pet Event This Weekend

POMONA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Southern California’s top celebrity cat, Scarlett’s Magic, will be mingling with fans and taking the stage at the West Coast Pet Expo this Saturday and Sunday at the Fairplex in Pomona, home of the Los Angeles County Fair.

The F1 Savannah Cat is the Tallest Domestic Cat in the World, according to the Guinness Book of World Records™. At a stunning 17.1 inches from shoulder to toe, the sleek auburn-spotted feline has been in high demand for social appearances, walking the “cat walk” at fashion events, cuddling with the stars at the MTV Video Music Awards and hob-knobbing with many of the Southland’s rich and famous at the Playboy Mansion.

Savannah Cats are a unique, intelligent and loving domesticated cat with the look of a wild plains hunter and the docile nature of a family’s most loyal pet. A cross between an African Serval and a domesticated breed, Savannah cats can be walked on a leash, learn how to fetch and often enjoy playing in water. They’re also the closest you can get to owning a wild cat in California without breaking any laws.

Scarlett’s Magic’s owners are Kimberly and Lee Draper, Bella Gattini Cattery breeders and owners of The Savannah Cat Shoppe in Corona, Calif. – the world’s only retail outlet for the distinctive breed, which ranges in price from $1,500 to $35,000. Rare and extremely limited kitten cubs – all stemming from Scarlett’s Magic’s Guinness-record-holder lineage – will also be available for viewing and for sale at the fairgrounds.

The Savannah Cat Shoppe is located at 2795 Cabot Drive, Suite 180, at the Promenade Shops at Dos Lagos in Corona, CA. For information, visit www.savannahcatshoppe.com or www.bellagattini.com or call 800-881-0006.

In addition to Scarlett’s Magic, the West Coast Pet Expo at 1101 W. McKinley Ave., Pomona, will feature other celebrity pets. Animal behaviorists and law enforcement officials will provide demonstrations, and producers of National Geographic's "The Dog Whisperer" will be accept audition tapes for the show. Hundreds of exhibitors will be there, including more than 50 pet adoption and rescue groups with animals -- dogs, rabbits, alpacas -- available to go to new homes. Proceeds benefit the West End Shelter in Ontario, a "no kill" facility that averages 800 adoptions per year and has found homes for more than 40,000 animals.
