Dow Coating Materials' Innovative Designed Diffusion Technology Enhances Film Formation at European Coatings Conference
HORGEN, Switzerland--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dow Coating Materials, a business unit of The Dow Chemical Company, will present a paper on Designed Diffusion (DD) technology titled “Synergistic Waterborne Acrylic Urethane Systems” at the European Coatings Conference from 12-13 November in Berlin, Germany.
“More and more, the coatings industry is being asked to comply with a wider range of regulations. We look forward to sharing information that can provide innovative solutions to the industry that assist in the reduction of VOCs without sacrificing product quality.”
“With increasing pressure to reduce volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in the coatings industry, DD technology is helping to meet environmental regulations without compromising film performance,” said paper author Andrew Swartz, Dow Coating Materials. “In order to gain the proper hardness, mar, block, print and dirt pick-up resistance, latex based industrial coatings need high glass transition (Tg) polymers. DD technology allows us to improve and accelerate early property development of waterborne latex coatings so that coatings formulators and end users have the option to be able to lower VOCs, as well as improve line productivity and reduce energy requirements.”
The European Coatings Conferences draw an international audience of industry professionals for an intensive exploration of coatings topics. At each conference, experts from leading companies and research institutes around the world are invited to give technical presentations. Dow will present its paper during the first session on 12 November at 14:45 with detailed evidence of DD technology performance, including analytical, physical and application data.
“We welcome the invitation to present at the European Coatings Conference,” said Dr Andrew Trapani, Technical Director EMEA, Dow Coating Materials. “More and more, the coatings industry is being asked to comply with a wider range of regulations. We look forward to sharing information that can provide innovative solutions to the industry that assist in the reduction of VOCs without sacrificing product quality.”
