Dow Coating Materials Introduces High Performance Aqueous Stain-Blocking Binder with Avanse™ Technology to North American Coatings Market

PHILADELPHIA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Dow Chemical Company (NYSE:DOW) has announced the introduction of Rhoplex™ PR-295 with Avanse™ technology, a highly-innovative, high-performance, environmentally-advanced, aqueous binder to the North American coatings market. Rhoplex™ PR-295 binder was developed for exterior and interior primers and stain-blocking sealers. The patented Avanse™ technology significantly improves performance over that of conventional latex polymers providing excellent film formation that blocks stains from migrating through the dry paint film and yielding stain-blocking performance without the use of zinc oxide.

Primers and sealers based on Rhoplex™ PR-295 binder offer exceptional stain blocking and “bleed through” resistance over cedar and redwood. They also block stains over common interior household stains, such as those left by water damage and by both solventborne and waterborne markers and pens.
