Pacer International to Kick Off Investor Day in New York on Sept. 27 by Ringing the NASDAQ Opening Bell

Pacer Investor and Analyst Day
CONCORD, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 23, 2006--Pacer International, Inc. (Nasdaq:PACR), the North America logistics and transportation provider, announced that it will host a strategically focused "Pacer Investor and Analyst Day" on Wednesday, September 27 at the New York Hilton Hotel, Times Square, from 10:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. (EDT).

Don Orris, chairman and CEO, and other senior Pacer managers, will kick off the event by ringing The NASDAQ Stock Market Opening Bell at 9:30 a.m. (EDT) at the NASDAQ MarketSite on Broadway in Times Square.

“The principal aim of this year's Investor and Analyst Day will be to discuss Pacer's strategies for capitalizing on the surging intermodal transportation and logistics markets, and for continuing to improve annual financial performance even if the economy softens in 2007”

Pacer management will then lead the discussion with investors and analysts about Pacer's business prospects and its contingency plans in the event of an economic slowdown. The investors meeting, which will take place in the Hilton's Bijou Room, includes lunch.

Expectation of Continued Performance Gains

"The principal aim of this year's Investor and Analyst Day will be to discuss Pacer's strategies for capitalizing on the surging intermodal transportation and logistics markets, and for continuing to improve annual financial performance even if the economy softens in 2007," said Pacer's vice chairman, Mike Uremovich.

He noted that, with one of the largest double-stack rail networks in North America, Pacer is today responsible for approximately 20 percent of all domestic U.S. intermodal rail container shipments. Containerized imports from Asia, which constitute much of Pacer's volumes, continue to set new records.

Aside from kicking off the investor meeting, the bell-ringing ceremony will also commemorate Pacer's fourth year as a public company traded on The NASDAQ Stock Market (since 2002), and its ninth year in business (since 1997). In July, Pacer's stock was selected for listing on the exchange's "Global Select Market."
