Sony Carson Names Pacer Global Logistics Its ''Best Intermodal Carrier''
PGL has served as a third-party logistics provider for Sony for nearly 20 years. The company provides various Sony business units with intermodal and highway brokerage services and coordinates freight-handling, warehousing, distribution and other services provided by other Pacer affiliates, according to Bob Giarratano, PGL's vice president of sales and marketing, who is based in Rutherford, New Jersey. He said Sony's Carson division is a substantial user of Pacer's rail intermodal brokerage services.
"We work hard to provide Sony Carson with consistent equipment availability, which enables them to get their product to market even in peak periods," said Giarratano. "Access to equipment capacity is pivotal in today's marketplace, particularly from the West Coast. Electronics products handled by PGL for Sony range from boom boxes to DVD players to television sets and the components for their manufacture.
