Peter Ruotsi Named Chief Commercial Officer at Pacer Global Logistics

DUBLIN, Ohio--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 25, 2004--Peter M. Ruotsi has been named chief commercial officer at Pacer Global Logistics (PGL) based in Dublin, Ohio. Ruotsi was most recently executive vice president of business development at Pacer Stacktrain in Concord, California.

PGL is the retail arm of Pacer International (Nasdaq:PACR), the North American freight transportation and logistics services provider. PGL arranges for and provides a full menu of complementary services that include intermodal marketing, trucking, warehousing and distribution, international freight forwarding, and supply-chain management services directly to manufacturers and retailers.

Ruotsi was associated with Xerox Corporation from 1968-1988, where he served as a senior line officer in Xerox's sales organization. Additionally, he served as a member of the team that developed and implemented Xerox's "total quality management" strategy, which led to Xerox receiving the coveted Malcolm Baldrige Award.

Ruotsi entered the transportation industry in 1988 when he joined American President Companies (now APL) as vice president and quality officer. From 1990-1996, he held positions as executive vice president for sales and business development, and later executive vice president and general manager, of the intermodal division of Southern Pacific Transportation Company.
