Pacer International Names Mike Uremovich as Vice Chairman

CONCORD, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 15, 2003--Michael E. Uremovich, most recently a partner in the San Francisco-based consulting firm Manalytics International, has been named vice chairman of Concord-based Pacer International (Nasdaq:PACR), the North American logistics and transportation provider.

In this newly created position, Uremovich will be primarily responsible for corporate strategy, and will also have direct operating responsibility for the company's International, Supply Chain Services, and Warehousing and Distribution business units. He will also become involved in external affairs and a variety of commercial activities.

Prior to his association with Manalytics, Uremovich served in senior marketing positions for Southern Pacific Railroad; APL, Ltd. (then American President Companies); and Lee Way Motor Freight. He was instrumental in the early commercial development of double-stack rail transportation, and in the development of logistics services for these transportation companies. Uremovich has also managed major components of the transportation practices at Booz Allen and Hamilton, and at Coopers & Lybrand.

Uremovich will be based at the offices of the company's retail division, Pacer Global Logistics, in Dublin, Ohio.
