Pacer Global Logistics Names Dodd Fiori President of Its Freight Consolidation & Handling Group
Most recently chief operating officer and a member of the board of directors of NYK North America, a worldwide container operator, Fiori served as senior vice president of sales and marketing for NYK from 1990-98. Prior to that, he was vice president of pricing and marketing for global container operator APL.
"Freight consolidation and handling is a core element of Pacer's spectrum of logistics capabilities," said Carl Kooyoomjian, PGL's chairman, based in Dublin, Ohio.
"Dodd Fiori understands intrinsically how critical these hands-on, precise activities are to the smooth functioning of our customers' overall supply chains because of his close contact with shippers and consignees over many years. We are delighted to have him join the PGL management team."
Fiori, who will be based in South Gate, California, a suburb of Los Angeles, said his service group will support both discrete freight-handling operations for customers, as well as the freight-handling components of comprehensive, integrated service portfolios coordinated for customers across the Pacer organization.
The group's freight-handling services include consolidation, deconsolidation, cross-dock work, warehousing, drayage, container-yard (CY), and other services.
