WALNUT CREEK, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 18, 1999--Peter M. Ruotsi will also develop an integrated marketing strategy for the logistics division, and manage its sales force and its National Accounts group.

"Pete Ruotsi has played a key role in developing effective sales and marketing programs during periods of corporate change and growth," said Orris, noting that Pacer International has expanded rapidly since 1997 through internal growth and a series of mergers and acquisitions.

He served as vice president and quality officer for APL from 1988-90, and, from 1990-95, he held positions as vice president and general manager of the intermodal division of Southern Pacific Transportation Co., and as vice president of sales and customer service. Most recently, Ruotsi has consulted in the fields of sales and customer service, working for and with such firms as INSeON, Content Management, Baxter Healthcare, AT&T Wireless, Gartner Group and others.
