Pacer Stacktrain Announces Promotion of Peter Mettra; New Focus for Adriene Bailey
"The market is changing, and we are building and aligning our organization to ensure that Pacer continues to be a market leader in the business of moving truckload freight -- in any mode," said Tom Shurstad, president of Pacer Stacktrain. "We are firmly committed to our wholesale channel partners, and we are investing in strengthening our executive team and organization. Our intent is to build new products and services that will provide the intermodal marketing company (IMC) community with seamless, high quality, door-to-door intermodal services to offer to their customers," he said.
Mettra was formerly vice president for Domestic Sales; and Bailey was formerly executive vice president for Business Development and Transportation Purchasing. Both Mettra and Bailey will continue to report to Tom Shurstad, who serves as head of Pacer International's wholesale segment, as well as Pacer Stacktrain president.
Pacer Stacktrain's new products will be designed to improve operating efficiencies and eliminate hand-offs, to increase service quality, and to lower the total cost of delivering the transportation service to the end customers, said Bailey. "Our customers are participating with us in the design of these products, and their input and continued collaboration will be instrumental in the success of our initiative," she added.
In an earlier, related press release, the company announced that intermodal industry veteran Dan Beers has joined the company as executive vice president for Sales, and will be responsible for the Domestic, Automotive, Ocean Carrier, and Mexico lines of business.
