Pacer International and Its Employees Raise More Than $68,000 for Hurricane Relief; Company Also Provides Relief Transportation Services
Larry Yarberry, Pacer's executive vice president and chief financial officer, noted that the company has also made shipping containers and trucking services available for humanitarian relief efforts to the New Orleans and Gulf Coast area at no charge.
Yarberry applauded the company's employees for their compassion and generosity. "Just eight months ago (in February), Pacer employees raised nearly $20,000 for victims of the Dec. 26 tsunami in Southeast Asia, and the company matched that sum. Of their own volition, employees have again rallied -- this time to help the U.S. hurricane victims, and increasing their own giving by nearly 80 percent."
