This announcement comes just before the U.S. Olympic Committee (USOC) and presenting sponsor Hilton Worldwide kick off the 100-day countdown to the Opening Ceremony of the 2010 Olympic Winter Games at the “Making Team USA: 100 Days to Vancouver” winter wonderland celebration in New York’s Rockefeller Center.
To enter the “Official Guest of Team USA” sweepstakes for a chance to win one of two grand prize trips for four, or two first prize trips for two to the 2010 Olympic Winter games in Vancouver, guests and winter sports fans can simply book the Go For The Gold™ rate at one of the Hilton Worldwide hotels in the United States and stay before Dec. 31, 2009. There will also be 100 second prizes that include airline tickets, fitness memberships and other prizes. The grand prize includes a five-day, four-night trip to the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver and a $10,000 check for two lucky winners along with three guests each. The first prize will consist of a five-day, four-night trip to the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver and a $5,000 check for two winners along with one guest each. The prizes include hotel accommodations at Hampton Inn & Suites Downtown Vancouver, roundtrip airfare to Vancouver, tickets to select Olympic Winter Games events, Team USA Gear gift packages, meals and more. The day will be open to the public and follow the journeys of Olympians, Paralympians and hopefuls. Hilton Worldwide will help create the magical celebration with giveaways, sponsored complimentary skates and a chance to meet members of Team USA. Throughout the day, Hilton Worldwide representatives will give away certificates for complimentary hotel stays at the Hilton Worldwide booth. Representatives at the booth will also register guests for the “Official Guest of Team USA” sweepstakes and sign up new members to Hilton HHonors, the award winning frequent-guest program.
The Hilton Worldwide Free Skates on Rockefeller Center Ice will be open to parents and children of invited guests and led by Olympian Sarah Hughes from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and again at 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. led by Olympian JoJo Starbuck. During the afternoon Free Skate from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the Hilton Worldwide booth, Olympic hopeful figure skaters, Keauna McLaughlin and Rockne Brubaker will be greeting fans and signing autographs. A short figure skating performance will conclude the day’s events from 4:50 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
