Humana Ranks Highest in South Atlantic Region for Overall Member Satisfaction in J.D. Power and Associates Study
Region Includes Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina
ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Humana (NYSE: HUM) has received the prestigious J.D. Power and Associates award for Member Satisfaction by ranking highest in the South Atlantic region for consumers’ satisfaction with their commercial health plans. That region comprises Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina.

The J.D. Power and Associates’ National Health Insurance Plan Study evaluated consumer satisfaction with their insurers based on the following criteria:
- Coverage and benefits
- Choice of doctors, hospitals and pharmacies
- Understandable information and communication from the health plan
- Approval process
- Claims processing
- Insurance statements
- Customer service
Humana also ranked highest in Texas in the same study.
The South Atlantic region includes more than 100,000 of Humana’s 3.6 million commercial medical health plan members.

The 2009 National Health Insurance Plan Study included responses from 33,000 members of large commercial health plans. Members were surveyed online in December 2008 and January 2009 for the 2008 plan year. The study examines the member satisfaction performance of large commercial health plans in 17 regions.
