Smart Marketing Page Tip Sheet

With the Smart Marketing Page product suite, you get the following distributions for one flat fee:

  • A Smart News Release sent to our National circuit and including your company logo and up to six fully-downloadable photos, videos or other multimedia assets. You can add additional multimedia assets for $100 each.
  • Posting of your press release and all multimedia assets to EON: Enhanced Online News, our web-optimized news site.
  • A Smart Marketing Page customized to meet your specifications and designed to showcase your company's products and services on a search engine optimized platform.

In order for us to process your Smart Marketing Page product bundle as quickly as possible, please follow the guidelines and workflow noted below. If you have any questions during the process, please contact your local Business Wire office.

Items to Submit to Business Wire

What When How
Smart Marketing Page Order Form At least 24 hours before you want your Smart Marketing Page to be publicly available. When you submit your press release in Business Wire Connect, on the Distribution page, in the Circuits & Services menu on the left, select Smart Marketing Page under Online Marketing. On the next page, check Smart Marketing Page and select Continue. This returns you to the main Distribution page. Select the link "Provide information for Smart Marketing Page" to complete the order form.
Press Release Document When you order the Smart Marketing Page. When you submit your press release in Business Wire Connect, add your document on the Files page as you would for any press release.
Multimedia Assets
(up to six multimedia assets and one logo)
 When you order the Smart Marketing Page. When you submit your press release in Business Wire Connect, add your multimedia files on the Files page as you would for a Smart News Release.

Multimedia Requirements

All files have a max size of 100MB in Business Wire Connect. For files larger than 100MB, please contact your local Business Wire office and we will be able to assist you with the upload process.

 960x130 pixels On the Smart Marketing Page form in Business Wire Connect, in the Theme section, choose "Use header graphic as a guide (make Smart Marketing Page 'match' the header graphic)." Use the field that appears to browse for your graphic on your computer. When you complete the form page by selecting Continue at the bottom, your graphic will be uploaded.
Smart Marketing Page Background Graphic
(only applicable if you’d like to use a custom graphic for your Smart Marketing Page background)
 jpg, gif 2000x4000 for full-size. If smaller graphic is provided, background will be repeated (tiled). On the Smart Marketing Page form in Business Wire Connect, in the Theme section, choose "Create from scratch (customize)." When you complete the form page by selecting Continue at the bottom, your customization options will be presented on a new page. In the Page Background section, choose "Graphic." Use the field that appears to browse for your graphic on your computer. When you complete the form by selecting Continue at the bottom, your graphic will be uploaded.
Favicon ico 32x32 pixels In Business Wire Connect, on the Files page, under Add Photos and Multimedia, select Upload from Your Computer. Then choose Document as the File Type on the upload page.
Logo png, gif, jpg, jpeg 100MB maximum file size In Business Wire Connect, on the Files page, add your logo under Add Logos as you would for any press release.
Image/Photo/Graphic png, gif, jpg, jpeg We prefer RGB .jpg files 2400x3000 pixels. In Business Wire Connect, on the Files page, under Add Photos and Multimedia, select Upload from Your Computer. Then choose Document as the File Type on the upload page.
Video avi, mov, wmv, mpeg, mp4, mpeg2, dv, 3gp, 3g2, mpeg4, flv 100MB maximum file size In Business Wire Connect, on the Files page, under Add Photos and Multimedia, select Upload from Your Computer. Then choose Video as the File Type on the upload page.
Audio mp3 100MB maximum file size In Business Wire Connect, on the Files page, under Add Photos and Multimedia, select Upload from Your Computer. Then choose Audio as the File Type on the upload page.
Slideshow ppt 100MB maximum file size In Business Wire Connect, on the Files page, under Add Photos and Multimedia, select Upload from Your Computer. Then choose Slideshow as the File Type on the upload page.
Spreadsheet xls, cht 100MB maximum file size In Business Wire Connect, on the Files page, under Add Photos and Multimedia, select Upload from Your Computer. Then choose Spreadsheet as the File Type on the upload page.
Document pdf, doc, txt, rtf 100MB maximum file size In Business Wire Connect, on the Files page, under Add Photos and Multimedia, select Upload from Your Computer. Then choose Document as the File Type on the upload page.

What to Expect

  • The turnaround time for the Smart Marketing Page is 24 hours (M-F, business hours) from the point that the Smart Marketing Page form, press release, and multimedia assets are received through Business Wire Connect.
  • Your local Business Wire office is your main point of contact for any questions you have before and after submitting your Smart Marketing Page order form and other items.
  • Once your order is submitted, you will be in direct contact with your local newsroom team to begin the process of building your Smart News Release, EON: Enhanced Online News Release, and Smart Marketing Page.
  • If you wish to communicate any changes to your order or include additional multimedia assets after the initial Business Wire Connect submission, please do so via Messages in Connect.
