PR/Marketing Industry Veteran Martin to Join DVL Public Relations & Advertising

NASHVILLE, Tenn.--()--DVL Public Relations & Advertising and Phil Martin Affiliates announced today a merger in which DVL will acquire the assets of PMA and Martin will join DVL as senior vice president.

Before starting Phil Martin Affiliates in March of 2010, Martin was a partner with Mercatus Communications and spent 10 years as president of Ericson Public Relations, senior vice president of Ericson Marketing Communications and vice president of Eric Ericson & Associates. He also has experience with Winners Corporation, Dye, Van Mol, Lawrence & Ericson (now DVL), Holder Kennedy & Co, and Burson Marsteller.

Martin’s client roster includes Great Southern Wood Preserving, Inc., maker of YellaWood® brand pressure treated pine, Tennessee Hospital Association, and United Way of Metropolitan Nashville.

A graduate of Leadership Nashville, Martin serves on the board of directors of Cumberland Heights Foundation and as an Elder of First Presbyterian Church of Nashville. He previously served on the boards of several organizations including: Bethlehem Centers of Nashville, twice serving as board chair; the Center for Nonprofit Management; chairman of the American Heart Association of Nashville; and the Nashville Business Incubation Center. He was the 2009 winner of the Silver Medal award, the highest honor given by Nashville’s Advertising Federation.

A journalism graduate of the University of Tennessee, Martin holds a J.D. degree from the Nashville School of Law.
