NEW YORK--()--KickApps Corporation, a leading social CMS platform provider, today strengthened its position in the market with the creation of a new social media strategy consulting practice to be run by Alan Wolk. The addition of Wolk, a social media and ad agency veteran with over 20 years of experience, gives KickApps a strategic social media consulting offering that’s every bit as compelling as the company’s other products and services.
“Brands are realizing two big things: (a) A “Field of Dreams”
“Our clients look to us for fresh thinking and innovative solutions,” explained Alex Blum, KickApps chief executive officer. “Alan's passion, experience at agencies like AtmosphereBBDO and J. Walter Thompson and proven social media expertise help ensure that their social media efforts will support their overall business objectives. Our clients already have access to an amazing platform, and now they have a strategic lead with vision and discipline. The combination of great technology and super smart people is what's needed to deliver results, and I'm thrilled that KickApps provides both.”
Over the past several years KickApps has demonstrated and expanded its commitment to socializing Web content. The company's drag-and-drop social App development environment and its rich platform of social content management capabilities have positioned KickApps for leadership in the evolving social Web.
“The time is right for KickApps,” says Wolk, a speaker, strategist and well-known blogger at the Toad Stool who was previously running his own consulting business. “Brands are realizing two big things: (a) A “Field of Dreams” approach to social media is no longer realistic -- you need to have an identifiable strategy and actionable goals behind your efforts, and (b) letting someone else own all the data your users provide does not work to your benefit. Since KickApps solutions let brands own all the social data from users, it gives them a real advantage over other players in the field.”
Wolk joins a vibrant and expanding social strategy practice at KickApps, which also recently added Social Media Strategist Justin Chase. Chase joins KickApps after five years at Digitas, where he developed social strategies for a wide range of well-known consumer brands including Nike, Samsung and Kraft Foods.
This is not the first time Wolk and KickApps have worked together. Wolk’s “Your Brand Is Not My Friend” presentation has been a hit at KickApps’ much-buzzed-about seminars, which have featured the likes of Charlene Li, Jeremiah Owyang, Mario Armstrong and IBM’s Sandy Carter.
Wolk started his career on the creative side of the business at ‘90s hot shop Anderson & Lembke, and was one of the first hires at AtmosphereBBDO, one of the original digital ad agencies. In addition, Wolk also spent time with J. Walter Thompson and Ogilvy. He is also the founder of the Hive Awards for the Unsung Heroes of the Internet, which debuted as part of the SXSW Interactive festival in 2009.
