The San Francisco Marathon Teams Up with Skyhook

New SpotRank map will display social activity and real-time population density along the course

Skyhook’s system is used to determine location on tens of millions of mobile devices and process millions of location requests on its network every day. The San Francisco Marathon™ map uses Skyhook’s data intelligence service SpotRank, a measure of real-time population density based on location requests on Skyhook’s network. While SpotRank lets spectators view hotspots of activity along the Marathon route, the map also displays what people are saying on Twitter, look at pictures through Flickr, and view Foursquare check-ins all in a custom interface.
