SAN FRANCISCO--()--SlideShare, the world’s largest professional sharing community, now supports video sharing. The announcement was made by CEO Rashmi Sinha during her keynote at Web 2.0 Expo in San Francisco. Immediately available, professionals can upload and share videos of their talks, promotional videos, screencasts, demos and webinars.
“SlideShare has been an invaluable tool for engaging entrepreneurs about the Lean Startup methodology through presentations and documents”
"SlideShare is used by millions of professionals – they upload presentations and documents to SlideShare, but their videos are scattered all across the web,” said Rashmi Sinha, CEO of SlideShare. “Video is a powerful form of business content that can now work in concert with presentations and documents on SlideShare."
The new video capability helps professionals consolidate their business content – presentations, documents and now videos can be curated in custom-branded Channels, or shared on social networks such as Twitter and Facebook.
Professionals can also use the SlideShare app on LinkedIn for sharing videos with their professional networks.
"SlideShare has been an invaluable tool for engaging entrepreneurs about the Lean Startup methodology through presentations and documents," said Eric Ries, author, speaker, and consultant for The Lean Startup. "With the new ability to share video, entrepreneurs will, for the first time, be able to browse all types of lean startup content in one place."
SlideShare is the first service to offer the ability to capture leads through videos. This makes the video sharing service attractive to businesses looking to generate sales leads.
