NEW YORK--()--Dimension Data (LSE: DDT), a $4.0 billion global IT solutions and services provider, today announced it has acquired a 51% interest in Magenta Computacion S.A. (Magenta), a leading systems integrator based in Santiago, Chile, for an undisclosed sum. The transaction, effective April 7, 2010, allows Dimension Data to further extend its global footprint into the fast-growing Latin America (LATAM) market and better serve the company’s multinational clients. Magenta will be immediately rebranded as Dimension Data Chile.

With this transaction, Dimension Data Americas now has operations in five countries: the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Brazil and Chile. This transaction provides Dimension Data with a foundation for future growth into neighboring markets and the ability to capitalize on the many opportunities offered by LATAM’s favorable economic environment. According to the World Bank's “Doing Business 2010” report, Chile is among the most business-friendly countries in Latin America.
