Sanchez Will Engage With Asynchrony Executive Management on Array of Business Issues
ST. LOUIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Asynchrony Solutions (www.asolutions.com), a leading information technology firm, today announced that retired U.S. Army Lieutenant General Ricardo Sanchez has joined its board of directors. General Sanchez will take an active role on many leadership and management activities on behalf of Asynchrony.
“The company and its founders have strong personal integrity to go along with an outstanding track record as a leader in providing IT software solutions for the government and military organizations. I’m excited to now be part of the Asynchrony team.”
With Asynchrony having as much as 70% of its business in the military arena, the executive team decided it was imperative to stay aligned with current customers objectives, as well as enhance its strategic leadership position in future engagements. With General Sanchez’ outstanding military and leadership experience, the company believes it is now in a much stronger position moving into 2010.
“General Sanchez joining our board of directors is a reflection of the strong capability Asynchrony Solutions brings to its Warfighter-focused projects and other initiatives we’re doing with the U.S. military,” said Robert Elfanbaum, CEO, Asynchrony Solutions. “For example, we are building systems to help combat weapons of mass destruction by those who would do damage to the U.S. and friendly foreign nations. We are helping the U.S. Transportation Command realign its approach to technology through the effective use of enterprise architecture and agile methodologies to deliver capabilities. Asynchrony is working on very important issues and General Sanchez recognizes the significance of this work regarding national security.”
General Sanchez will participate in guiding the strategic vision of the company, attend meetings with key officials and executives, and provide guidance and consultation on calls with military clients.
“I am truly looking forward to working with Asynchrony Solutions as the company takes part in very important national security issues for the country,” said General Sanchez. “The company and its founders have strong personal integrity to go along with an outstanding track record as a leader in providing IT software solutions for the government and military organizations. I’m excited to now be part of the Asynchrony team.”
Sanchez was the Commander of all U.S. and Coalition forces in Iraq that led all post-invasion security and stabilization efforts, and set the conditions for the transfer of sovereignty and the reestablishment of all Iraqi forces. During his tenure, U.S. forces captured Saddam Hussein and his two sons. General Sanchez was the highest-ranking Hispanic in the United States Army when he retired in November 2006 after serving 33 years in the Army.
He then wrote a nationally acclaimed book titled: “Wiser in Battle: A Soldier’s Story,” which was critical of the overall U.S. Iraq war strategy. It garnered national publicity as the first book written by a former Iraq commander. At that time, General Sanchez was the highest ranking General to be critical of the effort.
