ERCOM launches “ePC Mobipass®-emulator” for Validation of LTE Handset and Base Station

PARIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Following the success of “eNodeB Mobipass®-tester” and “UE- Mobipass emulator” deployed on more than 80 LTE tests platforms over the world, ERCOM introduces new product dedicated to LTE handset and base station manufacturers: the “ePC Mobipass®-emulator”.

Most of the major telecom handset and network vendors are now focused on LTE (Long Term Evolution) solutions. In order to validate their prototypes and to check interoperability with the LTE network access system, LTE handset and base station vendors are requiring powerful tools to emulate the evolved Packet Core (ePC).

For this purpose, ERCOM introduces ePC Mobipass®-emulator which provides the following features:

• ePC emulator as an automatic LTE core network responding to the handset requests
• analysis and decoding tool over S1 interface (control plane and user plane)
• ePC traffic generation with embedded application server
• Choice between automatic mode and script based mode for customer specific scenarios.

Different hardware versions are available depending on customer requirements: from the simple box version to the blade chassis versions.

• Support of latest 3GPP release for LTE Rel-8.
• Support FDD and TDD standards for LTE
• Scalable solution for sub-system test or full system test. Multiple test features and UE behavior emulation to ensure UE and eNodeB stress on strategic features.

• Analysis and decoding tools for LTE protocols over S1.
• Connection to one eNodeB or two eNodeB for mobility scenarios.
