“For the second year in a row, we exceeded our patient savings goals,” said Group-Net, LLC President Rex C. Bowden Jr. “That's why we set an even more aggressive goal of $100 million for 2010, which will double overall patient savings to $200 million by December 31st. Between connecting consumers to patient assistance programs and getting free prescription drug cards into the hands of those in need, we've helped thousands of individuals save money on medications they might otherwise not have been able to afford due to economic struggles."
A new free patient service was launched in 2009 at www.FreeRxReminder.com, enabling users to save their prescription schedules online. Patients can then opt to receive email or text message reminders when it is time to take their medications. They can also receive reminders when it is time to have prescriptions refilled. "Manhattan Research recently polled ePharma consumers and actually found that a large portion of respondents -- 49% -- were interested in receiving email or text prescription reminders," said Bowden. "We developed FreeRxReminder.com to remind patients to take medication as prescribed and refill as prescribed. In some cases this allows patients to take less expensive medication verse more expensive extended release medications.” Many Physicians agree in most cases taking medication as is prescribed is a very important to well being of patients recovery or future health.
Group-Net, LLC will also launch a new venture this month at www.PrescriptionHistoryReport.com. This is the company's first project released in 2010, and it will allow patients who have given approval or authorized the release of PHR to their attorneys, insurers, healthcare providers and employer’s access to look up and obtain their prescription history, prescribing physician and hospital records reports.
Users can sign up for free at PrescriptionHistoryReport.com and run a free search to see if a prescription history report (PHR) is available for them. If a report is available, they can obtain a copy for a fee of $100. The report will contain a complete five year history showing all prescriptions and pharmacies used, as well as prescriber information for each medication.
"For 2010, Group-Net, LLC is committed to making all of our Web sites, free prescription drug cards, coupons, forms, and patient programs more user-friendly," said Bowden. "We don't only want to make things easier for patients, but also for pharmacists, healthcare professionals, members of the pharmaceutical industry, patient assistance organizations, and other organizations wanting to help patients in need of real prescription cost relief. Our free drug cards and online services will continue to arm people not only with the information they need, but the tools to make prescription savings a reality."
In addition Group-Net, LLC has many other new research and development projects which will be completed and launched in 2010 that will increase services designed to make prescriptions access and cost relief more affordable.
