HELSINKI--()--Snoring persons and sleep apnea patients are typically obese middle-aged or older men whether they have a white beard and a red coat or not. Remote Analysis Ltd, a telemedicine service provider from Finland, the Santa Claus Land, has developed an iPhone application for recording and analyzing snoring and sleep apnea. The app helps not only Santa but anyone who might suffer from annoying snoring or sleep apnea to determine if they should consult a doctor and get a relief in their condition. The Sleep Aid –application is now available on the iPhone App Store for USD 2.99.
“If Santa finds out with the help of Sleep Aid that he suffers from sleep apnea, we strongly suggest that he should consult his doctor, consider his diet, skip eggnogs and use a pillow to form a belly next Christmas”
“This application is very easy to use. Just place the iPhone on your night stand, click “Record” and go to sleep. In the morning click “Wake up”. After this you can browse a graph based on the night time recording and listen to audio clips revealing your snoring. The app includes sample audio clips of regular snoring and sleep apnea. You can compare your own recording with the samples and conclude whether you might have sleep apnea”, explains CEO Ossi Tiihonen.
”We have developed the application with Qvik Ltd and medical doctors who specialize in sleep apnea diagnostics. The application can be used to screen sleep apnea or, for example, to gather evidence of your husband’s snoring”, continues CEO Ossi Tiihonen. “If Santa finds out with the help of Sleep Aid that he suffers from sleep apnea, we strongly suggest that he should consult his doctor, consider his diet, skip eggnogs and use a pillow to form a belly next Christmas”, laughs CEO Ossi Tiihonen.
