Grandparents and Grandkids Team Up for Multiplayer Gaming Event at Fairwinds – Ivey Ranch

Extending its pioneering efforts to expand the audience for video games, Nintendo of America is giving Oceanside, Calif., seniors, their children, their grandchildren and their friends an unforgettable hands-on introduction to one of the year’s hottest game titles, New Super Mario Bros. Wii. Residents of Fairwinds – Ivey Ranch – a member of the Leisure Care group of retirement communities – will participate in an exciting cross-generational event that invites seniors and their families to enjoy the new game together.

 

Since launching on Nov. 15, New Super Mario Bros. Wii has earned high marks from fans and critics alike for its fun-packed game play and an inclusive multiplayer mode that allows up to four people to play simultaneously. Players can work cooperatively or competitively as they collect coins, dodge enemies and rally to rescue Princess Peach from the devious Bowser. Combining classic elements and new features that appeal to members of any generation or background, the game is the latest in Nintendo’s popular Super Mario Bros. game series, which has sold more than 222 million games worldwide since premiering in 1986.
