El Camino Hospital Now Fully Operational
More Than One-Thousand Medical Treatment Services Completed to Date
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The new technologically and seismically advanced El Camino Hospital, the hospital of Silicon Valley, is now fully operational. All 119 patients were safely transferred to the new facility and the new emergency department began accepting walk-ins and ambulance traffic on Sunday, Nov. 15, within minutes of activation.
Since the first days of operation, hospital physicians have carried out a substantial number of procedures, including:
- Over 500 patients admitted to the emergency department

- 15 of the 116 surgeries were performed via the new daVinci® Robotic Surgery System

45 interventional lab procedures
- Interventional procedures included one minimally invasive treatment of severe peripheral vascular disease (PVD). The procedure was performed in the new, state of the art hybrid interventional/surgical suite.
- The hybrid interventional suite and robotic surgeries at El Camino Hospital allow surgeons to perform more minimally invasive procedures which can reduce pain and recovery times for patients.
- 900 digital radiology procedures with the newly acquired filmless digital imaging equipment.
