Heritage Key: Come and Rediscover King Tut's Tomb

LONDON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Visit Pharaoh Tutankhamun’s tomb, arguably the greatest archaeological discovery of all time, without travelling to Egypt! The tomb is now open for the public to explore online at www.heritage-key.com.

Heritage Key, now in public beta, is a new online community with an exciting, 3D virtual experience that sends visitors way beyond the constraints of the flat web. From the comfort of their own living room, people can be transported back to the burial chamber Lord Carter entered over 80 years ago. Creating their own virtual characters from a series of like-like avatars, people can walk around King Tut’s tomb, see wall paintings as they are today and as they were originally created and listen to in-depth commentary on artefacts uncovered from the dig.

Heritage Key is a new, entertaining way to learn about the past. Not only can visitors see some of the most amazing ancient world artefacts in stunning detail, like the famous Golden Death Mask, but they can join lectures and meet with people from around the world to share the same experience.

The immersive adventure is complimented with a media-rich website showcasing new videos from leading experts such as Zahi Hawass and John Julius Norwich, as well as spectacular photography from masters such as Sandro Vannini. Whether you want to step back in time and touch thousands of artefacts, watch YouTube videos on mummification on your iPhone or post comments on the latest expert articles, Heritage Key lets you discover history the way you want to.

Heritage Key has been built by Rezzable Productions, the developers behind many of the most successful entertainment areas in the virtual world Second Life.
