JukeFly 2.0 Delivers a Fix for Music Lovers With a Personal Online Music Player
The Social Music Site Announces Exciting New Ways to Access, Share, and Enjoy Music
SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--JukeFly, the social music web app that gives consumers access to their music wherever they are, has just announced a substantial upgrade that makes it easier than ever for anyone to share and listen to their own music. In addition, JukeFly is the only free web app that combines the ability for members to listen to their own music or choose from an immense selection of music from all genres new and old – and stream it all from a single site.
“JukeFly’s mission is to give our community total control over their music experience”
“Previously, if you wanted to use JukeFly to listen to your music remotely, you had to keep your PC on and connected to the Internet,” explains JukeFly CEO Jeff Sidlosky. “That’s no longer necessary. Now anyone can access their own music from anywhere as long as they’re connected to the Internet – it’s powerful, easy and free!”
While other web-based music services offer the ability to listen to music “stations” based on preferences or genres, they don’t let people access their own music, while others charge a monthly subscription. “People spend hours choosing music they like and creating playlists,” says Jeff Sidlosky. “Until now, they’ve only had access to that music through their own music players or computers. Now that’s no longer the case - as long as you have Internet access and JukeFly, you’ve got your own music at your fingertips, without paying a monthly subscription fee.”
JukeFly’s proprietary technology enables users to stream their own music over the Internet, using a robust player within the browser. This innovative service doesn’t require members to upload their music, making JukeFly the best legal way to easily access music online. And there’s a social element to it, too - JukeFly members can listen to other member’s playlists, share songs, view lyrics and comment on any song, album or artist. They can also access the newest, hottest, and most popular music, watch music videos, or share playlists on social networks such as Twitter and Facebook.
“JukeFly’s mission is to give our community total control over their music experience,” says Jeff Sidlosky. “Whether they want to discover new music, share their favorite music, or listen to their own music from anywhere, we give them the ability to do it all.”
ABOUT JUKEFLY
Silicon Valley entrepreneurs Jeff Sidlosky and Dinesh Nair launched JukeFly 1.0 in 2008. The duo met while at Tukaroo, a desktop search engine acquired by Ask Jeeves in 2004. Frustrated by the limitations of other online music services, they realized that the market lacked a solution for people to listen to their own music when they didn’t have access to their PCs or music player. Together with principal engineer Creighton Chong, they created an innovative architecture that mashes data from music sites like Billboard and last.fm while streaming music from home PCs and online music sources like YouTube. The service already has thousands of members, and is growing rapidly. In the coming months, JukeFly will announce many other exciting features and will continue to expand its community.
