Bling Nation Expands Colorado Focus with Rod Stambaugh Regional President
Mobile Payments Veteran to Oversee Company Operations
PALO ALTO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Bling Nation, a mobile payments provider, announced today the addition of Rod Stambaugh as regional president for the company’s Colorado operations. Colorado is home to Bling Nation’s first customer, The State Bank, and the region offers a number of other ideal prospects for mobile payments. In his position, Stambaugh will spearhead outreach efforts to Colorado financial institutions as well as manage the Community Payments Service for La Junta, Colo.-based The State Bank and other financial institutions in various stages of deployment.

Stambaugh brings more than 20 years of leadership experience to Bling Nation. Most recently, Stambaugh served as founder, chief executive officer and chief strategy officer of Boulder, Colo.-based Mocapay, where he conceptualized, organized and launched the first U.S.-based mobile payment company that enabled consumers to securely pay retailers at the point of sale using their mobile phone. While at Mocapay, Stambaugh successfully orchestrated product and software integrations with major POS vendors, including IBM, Radiant and Verifone. He also authored several core technology patents, while at Mocapay.
Stambaugh has also held executive positions at Denver, Colo.-based IP Commerce and Emeryville, Calif.-based U.S. Wireless Data, where he founded the first high-speed wireless electronic payment products and services company in the transaction-processing marketplace.
Stambaugh earned a bachelor of science degree in Business and Psychology from Baldwin City, Kan.-based Baker University.
