Ticonderoga Securities Launches Equity-Research Group with Coverage on 14 Technology Supply Chain and Networking Companies

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Ticonderoga Securities, an institutional broker dealer, announced the launch of its equity-research group, with initial coverage of 14 technology supply chain and networking companies.

“Our view is that the leading financial services firms of the future will be those that lead with intellectual capital”

The launch is the next step in Ticonderoga’s strategy to become a leading broker dealer that concentrates on domestic and international equities with a focus on high-quality, conflict-free order execution alongside its differentiated research.

Brian J. White, Managing Director within Equity Research, will be covering the technology supply chain, networking and IT hardware sectors for Ticonderoga. The firm has plans to rapidly expand its equity-research coverage.

Prior to joining the firm, White was responsible for covering the Electronics Supply Chain and China Technology sectors at Collins Stewart and has also covered various industries in technology with Jefferies & Company and Merrill Lynch. He has been ranked as one of the leading analysts in Electronics Industry by Forbes as part of its 2009 Blue Chip Survey and was a member of the No. 1 ranked Electronics Manufacturing Services team by Institutional Investor.

“Our view is that the leading financial services firms of the future will be those that lead with intellectual capital,” said Joel Plasco, Chairman and Co-Founder of Ticonderoga Securities. “This is an important step for Ticonderoga as we build out our research capabilities and continue to assemble a team of leading analysts such as Brian to provide our clients with what we believe to be unparalleled research.”

As part of that research effort, White has been conducting tours for clients over the past several years of technology companies in Beijing, Shenzhen and Shanghai, which has helped him develop a strong contact base.

“We believe that the electronics manufacturing services and connector industries are experiencing improving trends and troughing cycles, while the LCD cycle appears to be peaking,” said White. “Connector makers are experiencing a healthy pickup in demand and the cycle appears to be troughing with a leaner cost structure drive improvement in 2010. Our field checks in the tech supply chain point to improved trends in the networking market at large and we expect a further rebound in 2010.”
