AirHop Adds $1M Investment and Expands Team to Pursue LTE SON Market

Industry Veterans Join the AirHop Team, Strengthening the Company's Leadership Position in Self-Organized Networking

SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--AirHop Communications, a developer of systems software that enables the deployment of high performance and highly differentiated 4G wireless networks, announced the close of a $1 million financing from a syndicate of wireless industry luminaries and the addition of several industry veterans to its management team. The company also announced several additions to its board of directors (see separate release).

Joining AirHop's management team are Garrett Choi as chief operating officer, Jerry Hall as vice president of marketing and Anand Parikh as vice president of business development.

Garrett Choi joins AirHop from Continuous Computing where he most recently served as vice president of business development. Earlier, he was general manager of the Trillium software business unit at Continuous Computing, vice president of engineering at Be Here Technologies and chief operating officer at Enroute, Inc. before its acquisition by Be Here. Garrett has also held technical and management positions at companies including Lockheed-Martin Telecommunications, Hughes Space and Communications and Rockwell International.

Jerry Hall joins AirHop as vice president of marketing. Hall brings more than 25 years of technical, marketing and executive management experience, much of which was with venture-backed high tech companies. His prior roles include founder and CEO of PriveSec, Inc., vice president of marketing at ProxiNet, Inc. (sold to Intellisync), founder and vice president of marketing at NetBoost (sold to Intel) and vice president of marketing at Lantronix. Hall has also been a board member or advisor to a number of companies.

Anand Parikh joins AirHop as vice president of business development and will be responsible for driving the company’s relationships with mobile operators and infrastructure partners. Anand is a seasoned executive with 25 years experience in the telecommunications industry. Most recently, Parikh was vice president of business development and marketing at Cartiza Networks. Earlier, he held senior executive roles at Sonus Networks, Appian Communications, Telco Systems, and Lightstream Corporation.
