New "Digital Scorecard" for Sporting Clays Now Available for the iPhone and iPod Touch
ClayTracker App Using Touch Screen Technology Introduces Easy Scoring and Statistical Tracking for Clay Target Enthusiasts
WILMINGTON, N.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--A unique solution for Sporting Clays shooters tired of fumbling with pencils and scorepads is now available on the iPhone App Store.
ClayTracker is the first hand-held, mobile application designed to allow clay target shooters to score their rounds, track percentages, and review their history with touch screen simplicity.
``Scoring for clay target sports hasn’t changed in 100 years,'' said Tom Carter, president of EXPOGO, Inc., the company that developed the program.
Other than scores recorded in registered shoots, the only option until now has been paper scorecards, but they don’t provide a convenient way for shooters to monitor their progress or store their stats for later review. ``The iPhone is an ideal scoring device since it allows the trapper to launch targets with the remote in one hand while keeping score on the iPhone with the other,'' Carter said.
Carter, a shotgun sports enthusiast, is not new to the process of creating and developing innovative products. Currently holding numerous patents and trademarks, he is quick to see the need for a better way, create a solution and bring it to market.
``Last December, I was looking for a scoring app for my iPhone,'' Carter said, ``and was surprised that I couldn’t find one. My 12 year-old son and shooting partner, T.J., suggested that we develop it since our company is in the product design and graphics business. We began working with our design team researching the scoring and tracking needs for the average Sporting Clays shooter, then hired an iPhone software development firm to write the code.''
Version 1.0 is just the beginning. ``We are already developing scoring for Skeet, Trap, and FITASC, plus many additional features that will be available as free upgrades when released,'' he said.
ClayTracker™ for the iPhone and iPod Touch is now available worldwide on the iTunes App Store for $19.99 (USD).
