Whitney George named Co-Chief Investment Officer of Royce & Associates

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Effective May 28, 2009, W. Whitney George was named Co-Chief Investment Officer of Royce & Associates, LLC, investment adviser to The Royce Funds. He shares this title with the firm’s President, Charles M. Royce, who said, “This decision was made to acknowledge the inestimable contribution that Whitney has made to the firm’s ongoing success and, more importantly, to better reflect one of the roles that he has played in the firm over the last several years.” Mr. George joined Royce in 1991 and is currently a senior Portfolio Manager and Managing Director.

This decision does not change his or Mr. Royce’s status or daily activities at the firm. Each remains deeply involved in the firm’s investment and management activities.
