NEW YORK--()--Critical Media Inc.™ today announced that Journal Interactive has upgraded to Syndicaster 2.0 (http://www.syndicaster.tv), a real-time broadcast-to-online video platform, to proliferate their video broadly online. Journal Broadcast television stations using Syndicaster are now equipped to selectively edit and publish their news broadcast to their websites, and syndicate to aggregators, portals, and social media sites such as ClipSyndicate and YouTube as well as distribution platforms including Brightcove.
“Syndicaster gives us more ways to share and leverage the quality news content we produce”
A web-based application, Syndicaster 2.0 is a video ecosystem that allows television news broadcasters to capture and edit content within moments of airing, creating searchable video clips that can be published to their websites or partner sites via Syndicaster’s newly released Super Distribution Engine (SDE). With the recent integration of Brightcove—a video provider for Journal Interactive—onto the SDE, clips created in Syndicaster are available immediately after creation in the Brightcove player on Journal websites. Additionally, Journal television stations can leverage Syndicaster’s SDE to simultaneously or on an embargoed basis publish, syndicate or distribute videos to many other locations.
With one click, a news story’s reach expands exponentially, thereby increasing its shelf life and revenue-generating potential. Broadcasters can now benefit from syndication and the ability to extend their broadcasts beyond the limits of traditional television distribution.
“Syndicaster gives us more ways to share and leverage the quality news content we produce,” said Bill Schulz, Senior Multimedia Designer for Journal Interactive. “The ability to edit and publish widely on the Web using one platform allows us to take advantage of online video as a key medium to serve our viewers as well as new audiences.”
“Syndicaster is a turnkey, robust video ecosystem for broadcasters. It allows television stations to create clips from their over-the-air signal within moments and leverage the Super Distribution Engine for immediate and comprehensive distribution of video assets. By adding Brightcove into the distribution engine, we are able to offer Journal Interactive and all of our clients even greater flexibility and opportunity to widely distribute valuable content in just minutes, and allow them to compete at a higher level in the rich media environment online,” said Sean Morgan, CEO of Critical Media.
