Earth Intelligence Network CEO Robert Steele to Speak at UN on 17 and 18 April 2009 RE Need for United Nations Open-Source Decision-Support Information Network (UNODIN)
WASHINGTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Robert Steele, international champion for Open Source Intelligence (OSINT), Peacekeeping Intelligence (PKI), and harmonized Collective Intelligence, will be speaking exclusively to UN mid-career professionals on Friday, 17 April, and at the NYC “Open Everything” Conference at UNICEF Saturday, 18 April. UN employees desiring to attend the Friday session should contact Robert Steele directly for the place and time. Each UN employee attending the Friday session will receive any of Steele’s books they request in advance, at no cost.
The Saturday conference is open to the public at no cost, and all those registering to attend by close of business Wednesday will receive a free copy of THE NEW CRAFT OF INTELLIGENCE: Personal, Public, and Political—Citizen's Action Handbook for Fighting Terrorism, Genocide, Disease, Toxic Bombs, & Corruption.
This latter local event is part of a global Open Everything movement, a collection of events organized by ordinary people who understand that openness empowers We the People. Apart from the two featured speakers who will be on hand all day, each event is self-organized in the spirit of Collective Intelligence.
Steele will present his plan for US funding of an Open Source Agency, an Office of Information Sharing Treaties and Agreements, a UN Office of the Secretary General for Decision Support, a Multinational Decision Support Centre, and a UN Open-Source Decision-Support Information Network (UNODIN) with which to harmonize US$1 trillion a year through a Global Range of Needs Table.
His recent keynotes include Amazon, Engineers, Gnomedex, NYC Hackers, the Multinational Information and Intelligence Seminar, and Depressed Spies.
Steele, 56, is a former US spy and Marine Corps infantry officer, co-founder of the US Marine Corps Intelligence Center (today a Command), and CEO of Open Source Solutions Network (OSS.Net, Inc.) as well as pro bono CEO and angel funder of Earth Intelligence Network, a 501c3 Public Charity that creates public intelligence (decision-support) in the public interest.
He is the #1 Amazon reviewer for non-fiction, and has published seven books including PEACEKEEPING INTELLIGENCE: Emerging Concepts for the Future; COLLECTIVE INTELLIGENCE: Creating a Prosperous World at Peace; and ELECTION 2008: Lipstick on the Pig. The latter offers an Annotated Bibliography of 500+ books relevant to our future.
