PROVIDENCE, R.I.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--ReBrand™ announces its winners and showcase of the 2009 ReBrand 100® Global Awards. The impressive list of successful rebrands represent 21 countries and over 40 disciplines. Juried by an esteemed panel of international business and design leaders, ReBrand 100 is the highest recognition for brand rebuilding and redesign in the business arena.
“ReBrand 100 has become one of the most important international branding awards in a very short time. Effective communication and strong brands are of great value especially in critical times. Unfortunately, budgets for such initiatives are all too easily cut. The Awards support the efforts of those overseeing brands within organizations and help showcase how their work is fundamental to a company’s sustenance,” said Bruno Schmidt, Managing Director of MetaDesign in Zurich and 2009 ReBrand 100 juror.
As in past years, an international panel of multidisciplinary industry experts convened to jury this fifth annual competition. The panel painstakingly reviews “before” and “after” representations of submitted brand transformations with their summary write-ups to select winners. Some of the criteria used to assess solutions ensure entries:
• had a clear transformation for the better in meeting strategic objectives;
• exceeded expectations and/or incorporated an element of surprise;
• spurred an emotional connection in the target audience; and
• were intelligently executed and capable of implementation organization-wide.
Eligible projects ranged from products, services, companies, non-profit organizations, individuals, cities, countries, spaces, and environments re-launched anywhere in the world between January 2006 and September 2008. The submission could have been an enterprise-wide effort, change in a single brand component, or a brand extension.
2009 jurors included InterbrandHealth CEO Jane Parker; South Africa’s Brand Leadership Group Founder, Thebe Ikalafeng; Siegel+Gale Co-President, Chief Creative Officer, Howard Belk; Principal and Founder, Pamela Zuccker of Principle. Past jurors have included International Corporate and Brand Identity Design Founding Partner for Onoma, Roger van den Bergh; MetaDesign Chairman and Founder Bill Hill; Saldanha Inc.
