Silver Diner’s Red, White & Blueplate Menu Celebrates the Inauguration of President-Elect Barack Obama at Silver Diner

ROCKVILLE, Md.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Silver Diner has announced a new commemorative Red, White & Blueplate menu in honor of Barack Obama’s inauguration. The special offerings are available for a limited time only and feature a wide range of patriotic -themed selections, such as the Barack & Biden Bacon Cheeseburger and the Potomac Pot Roast Platter.

This past fall, the Silver Diner introduced the Obamalette and McCainlette as part of its Blueplate ’08 Campaign. The Obamalette outsold the McCainlette by a margin of two-to-one, and now Washingtonians can enjoy the omelette inspired by the candidate’s favorite hometown food, Chicago deep dish pizza, on the President-Elect’s commemorative menu.

Also joining the now famous Obamalette on Chef Ype Von Hengst’s breakfast menu are the Patriotic Pancakes, with blueberries, fresh-sliced bananas, and strawberries, or the Homeland Hearty Breakfast of eggs any style, homefries with meat. All breakfast selections are $9.99, and include orange juice and a cup of bottomless hot coffee.

For lunch or dinner, diners can choose from a selection of Red, White & Blueplates that include the Barack & Biden Bacon Cheeseburger, the Camp David Turkey Club Sandwich, or the Memorial Meatloaf. Each is served with a hand-dipped Vanilla, Chocolate, or Strawberry Shake for just $11.99.

Offerings also include a series of Silver Diner Presidential Platters, ranging from the Congressional Crunchy Shrimp Platter to the Constitutional Cajun Chicken Pasta, all for just $14.99. Each is served with a fountain soda and a junior sundae for dessert.
