■ Sony Finance International Displays New Type of Location Porter
Sony Finance International and Sony Pro Techno Support connect a camera to a tablet PC via a DoCoMo FOMA handset for video broadcast.

■ "Evolution to HD For All Begins with Sony." New HD Production Equipment/InterBEE2009
The Sony booth is based on a theme of "Evolution to HD For All Begins with Sony," based on which we are introducing many new products and new solutions as measures to support increasingly diversifying customer needs. A layout of 22 cameras is centered on this camera studio and includes the F34, XDCAM HD, HDCAM, system cameras, and the HDCAM EX. Each corner is divided into seven zones where new products and new solutions are being introduced. At the center is the Camera Corner and on the left side is the News Solution Corner. All of the monitors in the Sony booth are LCD monitors. Monitors for professional use will likely transition to LCD monitors, so we want everyone to check out the excellent picture quality that these monitors provide.

■ SRW 5100 HDCAM-SR Digital Player
Sony was exhibiting movies, commercials, and TV programs produced using the HDCAM-SR format. On this screen Sony was showing actual productions such as movies, commercials, and dramas that were produced using the HDCAM-SR format.

■ BVM-L170 Master LCD Monitor and PVM-L2300 Monitor
At the monitor corner, Sony introduce their new products include the 17-inch BVM-L170 Master LCD Monitor and the PVM-L2300 LCD Monitor. The BVM-L170 features the industry's first 17-inch full HD LCD panel, and the PVM-L2300 is the model designed to fall within a price range that targets widespread use. As the switch to liquid crystal monitors progresses, we expect that this model will be widely popular. The roughly 60 monitors being used at the Sony booth at this show all feature LCD monitors.

■ "MameCam" HD HXR-MC1 Digital HD Camcorder
"MameCam" is the new compact HD camcorder. Because it is small, it can be mounted to a helmet for use in filming variety programs or such. The recording unit is also extremely small, and AVC-HD compression can be used for recording on a memory stick.

■ InterBEE booth using only Green Power
At the environment corner, for 4 days from November 18 through 22, Sony is attempting to supply the 11 megawatts of power needed by its InterBEE booth using only green power. This effort will result in a reduction of roughly 4.2 tons of CO2. As another environmental measure, the group company Sony Finance International is also involved in material recycling of broadcasting equipment. Collecting, disassembling, and refining broadcasting equipment that has been listed by its customers is contributing to resource recycling.
