SKIES’ Video Neighborhood over Latin America
THE HAGUE, The Netherlands--(BUSINESS WIRE)--SES NEW SKIES, an SES company (Paris:SESG) (LuxX:SESG) announces that Grupo Abril, one of the largest diversified media groups in Latin America, has launched MTV Brasil, its main TV channel for cable distribution in Brazil, on the NSS-806 satellite at the orbital location of 319.5 degrees East.
MTV Brasil is the third channel of Grupo Abril to launch on SES NEW SKIES’ NSS-806 satellite, alongside Ideal, a business television channel focused on management and career development, and Fiz, a youth channel targeting the Web 2.0 generation produced by Grupo Abril subsidiary Canais Abril. The Sao-Paulo based conglomerate now contracts a total capacity of 17.5 MHz on the NSS-806 satellite.
