Computer Programs and Systems, Inc. Announces 100th Sale of ImageLink® PACS
MOBILE, Ala.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Computer Programs and Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: CPSI), a leading provider of healthcare information technology to community and specialty hospitals, announced today the 100th sale of its ImageLink® picture archiving and communication system (PACS). A PACS provides for the review and centralized storage of digital radiologic images generated within a hospital. CPSI’s PACS was designed and developed from the ground up by CPSI as an integrated component of the electronic medical record (EMR) of the CPSI Health Information and Patient Care System.
“ImageLink is a prime example of CPSI’s commitment to providing community hospitals with comprehensive healthcare IT solutions,” said Boyd Douglas, CPSI president and chief executive officer. “We are very proud to have reached this milestone and see this as an affirmation of our development strategy.”
CPSI’s ImageLink PACS makes diagnostic imaging technology normally associated with the largest hospitals accessible to medium and smaller sized facilities – even critical access facilities. “Critical access designated facilities are an important part of our client base,” said Mr. Douglas. “ImageLink not only had to be full featured to compete with other PACS on the market, it also had to be affordable for these smaller facilities and bring a little something extra to the table. ImageLink’s ‘little something extra’ is real time enterprise wide availability.”
ImageLink efficiently manages scheduling, demographic, order, image, and transcription information and presents the information to care givers where and when needed. Whether in the emergency room, operating room, patient’s room, or physician’s office, ImageLink provides the instantaneous accurate information needed to support quality patient care.
Mr. Douglas also pointed out that customers that have installed ImageLink use the technology as a physician recruitment tool.
“Community hospitals are competing for patients and physicians,” explained Mr. Douglas. “It is a distinct advantage when a hospital can provide primary care physicians and specialists with access to patient records and diagnostic images in real time at the hospital or in the physician’s office.”
CPSI’s ImageLink is available to CPSI client hospitals and includes all of the necessary software, hardware, installation and training services, and on-going support.
