MEDecision Adds Key Executives to Further Strengthen Operations, Sales

Addition of Scott A. Storrer as President and COO, C. James Adamek as SVP Sales Will Leverage Alineo Platform for Operational Excellence and Growth

WAYNE, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--MEDecision, Inc., a leading provider of collaborative health care management solutions, today announced that it has named Scott A. Storrer president and chief operating officer and C. James Adamek senior vice president of sales, effective December 1. The addition of these senior executives to the MEDecision team further executes on the operational focus the company had announced earlier in 2008 and positions MEDecision for continued growth by leveraging its market-leading Alineo platform.

Storrer, who previously served as group president, pharmaceutical segment for Cardinal Health, Inc. and has 15 years of experience in the health care industry, will be responsible for all aspects of MEDecision’s operations, including continued platform development, solution deployment and operational effectiveness. Adamek joins MEDecision from Octagon Research Solutions, Inc., where he was vice president, commercial software. In his new role, he will leverage his 20-plus years of experience in sales and sales management to optimize the focus, discipline and effectiveness of MEDecision’s sales process, forecasting and strategy.

“With Alineo continuing to make successful inroads in the market, we feel now is the ideal time to add significant depth to our senior management team and further strengthen our sales efforts,” said MEDecision Founder and CEO David St.Clair. “Scott and Jim both bring to MEDecision very impressive backgrounds in health care management and software technology sales leadership, respectively. MEDecision will enter 2009 better positioned to capitalize on the momentum created this year, and Scott and Jim will help guide our company to the next level of success.”

“This is a time of great opportunity for MEDecision, as the company is leading the move toward a stronger vision of collaborative health care,” said Storrer. “The company has consistently proven to be a leader in technical innovation. Its products speak for themselves, and its reputation in the industry is tremendous. Our possibilities for continued growth are outstanding, and I look forward to working with the management team and everyone at MEDecision to maintain and strengthen our industry leadership.”

Storrer contributes a deep background in the health insurance industry. Prior to his role as group president, pharmaceutical segment for Cardinal Health, Storrer enjoyed a seven-year tenure with CIGNA Corporation, culminating with his role as executive vice president, service and information technology for the company. His previous background includes executive management roles with Liberty Mutual Group and GE’s financial management program. He holds a BA in economics and mathematics from DePauw University, an MBA from Boston University, and has completed executive training at Harvard University.

Adamek brings a track record of more than 20 years of technology management and sales success to MEDecision. Prior to his role as vice president, commercial software at Octagon Research Solutions, he completed a six-year engagement as executive vice president of FullTilt Solutions, where he led implementation strategy development and the re-engineering of the company’s infrastructure design. His background includes senior management roles with market leaders Cap Gemini and Deloitte Consulting. Adamek studied computer science at Duquesne University and at the Computer Technical Institute, Pittsburgh.

“This is clearly an exciting time for MEDecision, given the strength Alineo has shown,” said Adamek. “With its renewed emphasis on customer service and satisfaction and a dedication to helping clients do business more efficiently and affordably, I’m very enthusiastic about the opportunities that lie ahead for MEDecision.”
