WWF and Toys for Tots Join Forces This Holiday Season: Organizations Support Global Conservation and Children in Need
WASHINGTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--World Wildlife Fund (WWF) and the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation announced they will join forces once again this holiday season to support two great causes. Starting November 21st, donors to WWF’s symbolic species adoption program will have the opportunity to give their adoption premium package to a disadvantaged child in the United States through the Toys for Tots program.
Symbolic species adoptions options are available in $50, $100 and $250 increments, and come with a cuddly plush animal, an adoption certificate for the adopted animal, a color photo, and a fact card with details about the species and its habitat. Donations over $100 also include a world map for the child showcasing the places where each of the 91 threatened or endangered animals live in the wild. “Our partnership with Toys for Tots is the perfect way for charitable donations to go twice as far this holiday season,” said Terry Macko, chief marketing officer for World Wildlife Fund. “With everyone looking to stretch their dollars further this season, this is a unique and wonderful opportunity to support two causes with one single donation — by aiding global conservation efforts, while bringing joy to a disadvantaged child.”
A contribution to WWF’s symbolic species adoption program helps in several ways by protecting endangered species, preserving endangered places and fighting global threats like overfishing, deforestation and global warming, while supporting all of WWF’s global conservation projects. This is the second year WWF and Toys for Tots have teamed up for this unique program.
“Toys for Tots is thrilled to partner once again with World Wildlife Fund to help provide toys to deserving families with children in need this holiday season,” said Major Bill Grein, USMC (Ret), vice president of marketing and fundraising for the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation. “These gifts give families the opportunity to learn about crucial environmental issues and provides the satisfaction to donors they can make a world of difference by supporting both children and animals in need this holiday season.”
