Robert K. Dahl to Retire as NorCal Community Bancorp and Bank of Alameda Director
ALAMEDA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--NorCal Community Bancorp (OTCBB: NCLC) - NorCal Community Bancorp and its subsidiary, Bank of Alameda, today announced that Robert K. Dahl plans to retire from the Board of Directors after a decade of distinguished service to the Company and Bank.
Mr. Dahl announced that his retirement will be effective December 31, 2008. Dahl, 68, was an original founder of the Bank of Alameda and has been a director since March 1998 when the Bank commenced operations. Chairman of the Board James B. Davis stated, “Bob brought a wealth of knowledge and experience to the Board having served on several public and privately owned companies as an effective director.” Davis further stated, “On behalf of the Board of Directors and management we would like to thank Bob for his years of service and wish him and Pat years of enjoyment as they spend more time at their beautiful home in Mexico.”
Mr. Dahl, a retired certified public accountant, was previously Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Ascend Communications before joining Bank of Alameda. While at the Bank, he also served as Chairman of the Bank’s Investment Committee.
Dahl commented, “It has been my great pleasure to have worked with a strong board and management team.” Dahl further stated, “I look forward to the continuing success of the organization and remaining part of the Bank of Alameda family. My difficult decision to retire from the Board is based on the fact that I plan to spend more time in the future at my home in Mexico. I felt that my service as a director might be compromised by long periods of time when I would be residing outside of the United States.”
