Wireless Navigation and Location-Based Services Company Adds Top Executive to Software Engineering Team
IRVINE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Networks In Motion (NIM), the award-winning wireless navigation, hyper local search, and location-based services (LBS) company with the largest mobile phone navigation subscriber base in North America, today announced that M. Fathi Hakam, formerly of Kyocera Wireless Corporation, has been named vice president of engineering.

Hakam possesses 13 years of experience in the development and management of software products for mobile phones with such companies as Kyocera Wireless Corporation and Motorola. In his new position, Hakam will help lead the software engineering team, which has doubled in size during the past year.

Most recently, Hakam served as senior director of product engineering at Kyocera Wireless Corporation in San Diego, Calif., where he managed the global software engineering team, and restructured the software product organization into a combination of functional teams with clear delivery plans and accountability to increase efficiency and revenue while decreasing costs. Previously, he served as a software engineering section manager for Motorola Inc.
Hakam holds a master’s degree in software engineering and a bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering, both from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
